The 2012 CADC Annual Conference and Seminar

Doubletree-Hilton Hotel on the Berkeley MarinaDon’t miss CADC’s 19th Annual Conference and Seminar March 23 and 24, 2012, at the Doubletree-Hilton Hotel on the Berkeley Marina.

This year we are offering an expanded program on Friday, starting the day with our Annual Board and Membership Meeting at 11 a.m., followed by a buffet lunch with CADC’s Board of Directors and the Project Directors. After lunch is the Project Directors Roundtable, hosted by CADC’s Court and Project Liaison, Marcia Levine; a joint Dependency and Criminal MCLE session Honorable Tani Cantil-Sakauye on Tips and Tricks for a More Efficient Appellate Practice with Marcia Levine and Sheri Cohen; and the Keynote Address by the Honorable Tani Cantil-Sakauye, Chief Justice of the State of California.

There will be a cocktail hour and then dinner at HS Lordships Restaurant, followed by a member talent show hosted by Harry Zimmerman. (Friday Lunch and Dinner not included in conference fee; all cocktails are no-host.)

We will have a full day on Saturday, featuring Golden Gate University Law Professor Peter Keane on ineffective assistance of counsel, Candace Hale on persuasive brief-writing, George Schraer on homicide, and SDAP Staff Attorney Jonathan Grossman on Tips From Experienced Dependency Advocates. There will be panel discussions on Weathering the Stress of Appointed Criminal and Dependency Appellate Practice, Working with Dependency Trial Counsel, and Dependency Ethics After In re PC.

There will be a total of 9.5 hours MCLE offered – 3.5 hours on Friday and 6 hours on Saturday, including one hour of substance abuse/mental health MCLE (joint session) and one hour of ethics MCLE (dependency).
